The Montane Prism Sleeping Bad is the bag of choice for those expeditions or trips when the risk of kit malfunction is wholly unacceptable. Using the resilient Primaloft Silver Eco encased in a Pertex Microlight outer ensures that the Prism sleeping bag performs no matter what it has been through.
Primaloft Silver Eco is a warm, packable and exceptionally fast drying insulating material. It efficiently keeps you warm by trapping your body's heat in the tiny air pockets formed by fine fibres, providing almost instant warmth without excessive weight. One of the greatest advantages of PrimaLoft insulation is that, unlike Down insulation, it will remain thermally efficient even when completely wet. Whilst it may keep you warm whilst wet, that may not be the most comfortable situation. As such, the Prism Sleeping Bag protects the Primaloft with a Pertex Microlight outer, providing a windproof, fast drying and highly breathable protective layer with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish to ward off the worst of the weather.
More than the sum of its parts, the Prism has a remarkably well thought out design. A tailored anatomical fit, 3-D hood, shaped neck baffle and flipper footbox give it a snug fit that minimises the amount of unused space in the bag. With top stitch panelling to prevent the Primaloft migrating, a three quarter length two way zip for ventilation and silicon non-slip grips on the bottom, Montane really do seem to have considered everything. Even the stuff sac itself is impressive; with silicon grips to allow it, once stuffed, to be used as a non-slip pillow and a clever shape allowing it to fit into your pack without creating as much dead space as a traditional stuffsac.
Conceived for expeditions where high levels of moisture are expected and durability and reliability are essential, the Montane Prism is a great sleeping bag for anyone looking at overnight stays in inhospitable conditions.
